Hello there, Jo here with a little dose of inspiration with my February layout. This month I have been looking back at a class taught by Louise at the October GoGo Getaway retreat called Funky Fonts.
A class based on typography and creating your own ‘thickers’ letters from craft foam. I took inspiration from the first part of using different fonts to create a fun layout with the emphasis on typography.
I used my Silhouette to cut the words ‘are amazing’ from a free Jillibean Soup cutfile I had. I deleted the words ‘You’ and ‘remember that.’ I backfilled the words with a lovely pink paper from an old Paige Evans collection. Then I cut out individual letters to spell YOU in a different font, backfilled them with papers from the Paige Evans ‘Whimsical’ collection and popped them up on foam pads.
Instead of cutting letters from craft foam, I opted to use some thickers from my stash, again in a different size and font for the words ‘Remember that.’
I then created some photo clusters at the top and bottom of the layout, and added die-cuts and stickers from the Whimsical collection.
You’ll notice the photos are of me, and although I wouldn’t ever normally say that I’m amazing, quite the opposite usually, I felt that I needed to empower myself and to remind myself that actually, I am doing ok. It’s hard juggling life, family and career and we all need to pat ourselves on the back sometimes.
So there you are, a layout technique and a reminder that we need to give ourselves a break and be kind to ourselves.
Thanks for stopping by
