Madie here to share my post with you which is using acrylic paint as a background- Sarah Packer taught a lovely class last year using this technique.
Here is my layout, I used a Reeve’s paint in gold and a large flat brush some of the stripes I watered down the paint and some of the others I went in with the dry brush to give texture. I didn’t think too much about the stripes having to be uniform or equal spacing.
I added some paint splats in red and green to tie in the Christmas theme. The paper collection, chipboard stickers and ephemera comes from the Hip Kit Club, it’s their own collection. The frames I cut from some patterned paper and stuck them over my photo’s and that cute reindeer paper clip comes from the Hema store!
Here are some close ups.
The photo’s are from Christmas Eve, we had spent the day in the coastal town of Broadstairs, we walked along the beach, went for a massage and then found a quirky little church that had been turned into a bar. Was a really nice change from the normal last minute running around the night before Christmas day.
See you next month!
