Hey there! Niki here today with a layout featuring fussy cutting and decoupage. These aren’t new techniques but are soooo relevant at the moment. Essie Jane taught these techniques back at GoGo Getaway October 2018 and she cut out tonnes of cameras. She then cut out more cameras, but only the middle lense section. She then layered the lenses on the other cameras. The result was gorgeous.
I have applied this fussy cutting and layering technique to these scribbled hearts on my layout. I put a piece of the paper along the bottom of my layout, then added more hearts on top of the ones on the paper. I folded them and then machine stitched through the middle.
This layout was inspired by a challenge over at Mind the Scrap and we were challenged to include a folded interactive element on the layout. The blue piece of card opens out to reveal more photos and journaling…
I really enjoyed making this layout and I love how it turned out. The fussy cutting and layering technique is so easy and very effective and I’ll be doing it a lot more. I’ve used the Maggie Holmes Willow Lane collection and also added in a cute star shaped balloon by Bramblefox.
Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping xx
