Rolled Flowers | Kirei Baldwin

Hi there GoGo friends! It’s Kirei here with my first DT project for 2019, for this one I have gone completely ‘off piste’ and gone for a non-layout idea. I was inspired by Jo’s lovely class at the October GoGo Getaway where she showed us how to make rolled flowers. I have to confess that I got a little frustrated with making them as they would not come out as I wanted but I persevered and I loved it in the end!  This was Jo’s lovely layout…

Instead of making my own as we did in Jo’s class I went for a different option and used a variety of rolled flower cut-files by Paige Taylor Evans. Didn’t quite realise how many I would need… I ended up cutting 120 flowers! I used a variety of patterned papers, mainly from Paige’s different collections and some from my stash where I needed to make up some of the colours. And then I spent a few nights sat in front of the TV rolling all of them! I used 99 for the framed picture so have some leftover that I will use on a project later.

To make sure that each flower was stuck down well I used hot glue to attach them to white cardstock and then stuck that into a 12″ x 12″ frame from Hobbycraft.

I then cut out a short phrase using my Silhouette Cameo. I used a font called ‘Blushscript’ to write out the phrase and then welded the letters together so that each word would cut as one.

Don’t forget to share any layouts you create over on the GoGo Getaway Facebook page as we love to see what you come up with!

Thanks for looking, happy scrapping!
