Hi everyone! Niki here today and I have a layout to share based on a class taught by Sarah at GoGo Getaway October 2018. Sarah used Vicki Boutin Acrylic Paint to paint a background and also paint design features onto her layouts.
I’ve used exactly the same paint as Sarah used in her class. It’s a really goreous colour palette and comes in a set of four colours. Our GoGo Getaway delegates who took this class all had some to take home with them too. Instead of painting with this paint, I actually pushed it through a stencil – just to be different.
Paint is more runny than texture paste that I would usually put through a stencil. I considered mixing the paint with white texture paste (I didn’t have any clear on hand) but was concerned about dulling down the intensity of the colours, so I just went for it, straight out of the bottle! It worked really well as you can see – there is a small amount of bleeding but not too much. I started off doing the blue, then the light pink which I then dried with my heat tool before adding the middle two colours.
Once my background was dry I then created the rest of the layout with a photo cluster on the right side with lots of little embellishments. I was using up older stash when making this layout so I have lots of random bits from different collections. I also embellished the painted background with tone-on-tone embellishments.
Thanks so much for joining me today, happy scrapping xx
