Merry Christmas to you all! Hope you are enjoying the day spent with family and loved ones.
I am here with you today to share a layout I created based on Esther’s fab liquid watercolour class that she taught in October.
I started by cutting the leaves on my Cameo out of water colour paper and sprayed them with a spritz of water, I then mixed some red, yellow, brown and orange liquid watercolours and painted it on to the leaves to give them a autumnal feel. The watercolours I used are the beautiful Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers. You only have to use a little as the colours are so intense. I set the leaves aside to dry.
I used the lovely words paper (Hip Kit Club exclusive) as my background as the sentiments fitted my photo. I then added some layers using Heidi Swapp Emerson Lane and 1 Canoe 2 Golden Rod papers. I layered my photos on some of the above papers and Jen Hadfield Along The Way range.
Once the leaves were dry, I added some foam pads to some and stuck the others directly to the page. I wanted to give the feel that they were tumbling across my page. I then added my photos, again raised on foam pads.
I then embellished the page with some wood veneer leaves (HKC exclusive), Heidi Swapp Emerson Lane stickers, some sequins and enamel dots. Finally, I added a few flicks of Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in gold. Once that was dry I added my title.
I love the effect the liquid water colours gave to my leaves and the cozy autumnal feeling of the whole page.
The effect could also be achieved by using liquid inks or ordinary water colours! Hope this has inspired you to have a go.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous 2019.
