This month I’m sharing a layout using machine stitching. This technique was taught by the lovely Niki at our Getaway in June.
I have a confession to make… before taking this class I had never used my sewing machine! It has been sat in my craft room for years as I was too scared to use it as I had no idea what I was doing. A class with Niki and a few YouTube videos later … Voila! I’m hooked on having stitching on my layouts.
I’ve used the most recent Crate Paper Maggie Holmes collection called ‘Willow Lane’ for this layout. However, I’ve literally used a few strips of paper and some sticker embellishments. I used stamps and paint to crate extra interest on the background.
The machine stitching on the layout is quite subtle. I’ve used it to simply add a line of white stitches across each piece of patterned paper. Stitching gives a lovely soft texture to your pages and is a cheap and easy way to add that little something extra.
Thanks for hopping over to the blog today to see what’s going on here. We love to see your layouts so share them in our Facebook group or tag us on Instagram.
