Hope you are all well and keeping warm, as it seems summer is finally over and autumn has kicked in! Brrr!
I’m here today to take you back to June and our fab 10th Birthday GoGo Getaway! Nancy taught a fab class called Crayon-athon. The concept was to use a white crayon and then spray inks on top to get a crayon inky resist!
I decided to give it ago…. However, I couldn’t find my white crayon! I had a mega panic and then… light bulb moment, I’ll just use a candle!! It is wax after all!
I scribbled a pattern vaguely similar to that of the sprinkles paper I was using as the border and background for my layout. I then painted the background with pink water colour paint and watched the magic happen!
With the sprinkles piece I had gutted to create the border, I sprayed water along one edge and rolled it over a pen and tore it a little to give it the worn look. I used some Shimmerz texture paste on a white doily so that it would stand out a little from the busy background paper and give it a bit of shimmer.
Once the paper had dried I added it to the painted background and assembled the layout with the doily, embellishments from the Wild Child by Pink Paislee collection and a few Bramble Fox Perspective hearts.
Hope this has given you some inspiration to grab those crayons (or candles!) and get resisting!
Until next time….. Keep Scrapping!
