Hope you are all good and finding time to scrap this Bank Holiday weekend.
I’m back with you this month to show my take on Louise’s Letterbox class which she taught at the recent GoGo Getaway event in June. It features a fab hand cut title.
Louise used patterned papers from the Shimelle Box of Crayons range for her title and once I had chosen my photo and paper collect (Boys Rule by Cocoa Vanilla Studio) I decided I was going to make my own patterned paper to match my background.
I used a piece of smooth white cardstock and blended some Tim Holtz Distress Oxides inks on to it. I then flicked water all over it to get the distressed look. Once it had dried I then added some black ink splatters. I made the letter templates with some left over cardstock and hand drew each letter. I then cut them out and drew around them on the reverse of the paper I had created, remembering to reverse the letters so they weren’t back to front when I cut them!! Yes, that’s a mistake I have made before!! Once the letters were cut out, I added a doodle border around them using a black journaling pen.
I raised two letters from each word on foam pads, so the title would stand out a little more. I assembled the layout so the letters were overlapping each other and the photo slightly. I embellished with ephemera, chipboard elements and tiny word stickers from the Boys Rule collection and a couple of stars from the Bramble Fox Perspecitves range.
Hope you like my layout and it has given you inspiration to create your own hand cut title. See, we don’t always need to use our die cutting machines!!
Happy Weekend All, see you soon!
