Hi all, Kirei here with a layout inspired by the lovely Terri’s class at the 10th Birthday GoGo Getaway in June…. which was to use up those manufacturers strips from your 12″ x 12″ papers! I tend to just cut them off and then they just hang around doing nothing!
So, I started off gathering up manufacturer’s strips from all of the Pink Paislee Paige Taylor Evan’s paper collections that I had as the colours and patterns all work so well together even though they are from her different ranges. I actually used papers, ephemera, chipboard and alphas from a mix of her collections to embellish my layout as well!
I distressed one long edge on each manufacturer’s strip and then stuck them down slightly overlapping one another onto a sheet of 12″ x 12″ card. Initially I was going to use it as a background but it was so busy that rather than cover it all up I ended up using a large flower punch to punch a load of shapes from it.
Then I stuck them all down onto a piece of white 12″ x 12″ card that I had first trimmed down and stuck to a 12″ x 12″ patterned paper that I had gut the centre from. I then punched 1″ circles from this gutted piece and stuck them to the middle of each punched flower and added buttons from my stash tied with matching thread.
I layered my square photo onto three pieces of patterned paper that I had distressed the edges of. Then I added just a few embellishments around the photo as the rest of the layout was busy with the punched flowers so it didn’t really need anything else!
I struggled with a title and ended up just using some mini alphas stuck around some of the flowers.
So why don’t you save up those manufacturer’s strips and use them on a layout… then share it over on the GoGo Getaway Facebook page as we love to see what you come up with!
Thanks for looking, happy scrapping!
