Hey there GoGo Fans, Niki here today with my take on a class taught by Jo at our June 2018 Retreat with Shimelle. Jo taught her delegates how to make pleated strawberries and they were sooooooo cute! I loved them and was super pleased with the layout I made in that class.
For my layout today I took inspiration from Jo’s pleated strawberries but instead of strawberries, I made rosettes instead. I’ve recently been on a mission to use up my Maggie Holmes Carousel collection from last year and had lots of photos from our school summer fayre to scrap so figures this was a great way to use that collection and those photos.
I used a Tim Holtz die to cut my rosettes and my Big Shot machine (something I don’t get out very often!). I made 7 rosettes, all cut from the Carousel papers. I added centres and then gold sparkly circles too.
I used the packaging technique to create some water colour splashes under where my rosettes would go. I used several different colours to contrast with the rosettes and then stuck them all in place. I embellished each rosette and then added my photos and lots of little embellishments too.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my layout today and might even give pleating paper a go?
Happy scrapping xx
