Paper Piecing | By Kirei Baldwin

GoGoGetaway_KireiBaldwin_Eggs_layout_June2018_withfooterHi again! It’s Kirei here with my take on one of the classes taught at the recent GoGo Dayaway in Ipswich. It featured paper piecing without stitching…. which essentially means creating an image using pieces of paper/card pieced together! I had seen a number of layouts featuring oversized animals, so figured I would go with that and make a rabbit in a garden as I thought that would be perfect for some Easter pics of my nephew Ralph.

I drew a large rabbit and cut all the pieces out and then stuck it together after drawing faux stitching around all the edges. I did the same with a sun and some flowers, and also cut a couple of lengths of spikey grass.

I stuck all of these down within a layered frame I had cut from a 12″x12″ piece of paper. I then added my two photos, a few small embellishments, a title and finished off with some journaling.

Why don’t you have a go at paper piecing, I loved how mine turned out! Share your layouts over on the GoGo Getaway Facebook page as we love to see what you come up with!

Thanks for looking, happy scrapping!
