Hi GoGo Getaway fans! Niki here with you today sharing my layouts made for the recent Be Inspired Challenges set at GoGo Getaway March 2018 Retreat. At each retreat the Design Team set challenges for everyone to play along with, and of course there are prizes. Also if you complete all eight challenges then you go in the draw for the Star Scrapper Award.
The challenge I set was a scraplift and I made this layout for this challenge for people to be inspired by. I made the background when I attended a workshop in Florida by the fabulous Vicki Boutin. I used her Art Crayons watered down and then applied them to my background using the packaging technique. I added splatters of darker colour and then added gold embossing paste through a stencil and added glitter to the wet paste – what an awesome thing to do lol
When my background was dry I built my layout on top. I fussy cut loads of flowers from one of the Vicki Boutin paper and added some stitched detail to one of them, then added lots of ephemera and stickers plus a glittery title from an older set of Thickers.
Over at the GoGo Getaway retreat, I also took part in the challenges set by the other DT members. This sketch was set by Madie and this was my take on it…
This Fussy Cutting challenge was set by Terri and I fussy cut out lots of tiny things to go on my layout.
Lorraine set a colour scheme…I made a bright and colourful layout that has most of the colours (all except the purple) although they are slightly different shades, and the yellow only appears as a tiny stripe on one of the letters!
This ‘Inspirational Quote’ challenge was set by Nancy – what a fab quote! I went for the camera aspect (ie taking photos) and used the word ‘Moment’ as my title. There is also a ticket at the bottom.
And the final layout I made for these challenges was a shape challenge set by Lisa and she choose a house for her shape. I loved this challenge and created my own paper pieced house, without the use of my Silhouette! I used an old fashioned pencil and scissors – who would have thought it!
I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a look at my layouts. I always love taking part in challenges so much and usually aim to complete them all, which I didn’t quite manage this time – maybe next time!
Happy scrapping xxx
