Hi Happy Scrappers!
Hope you are all having a fab weekend and those of you that are at GoGo Getaway this weekend, hope you’ve had a great time!
Back in October Jo taught a class using Vicki Boutin’s fab art crayons. They look like crayons, but act like a water colour paint! Similar to Gelatos.
Feeling inspired by Jo’s class I thought I would give them a go…..
Firstly, I coloured some of the Vicki Boutin watercolour stickers and then blended with a water colour brush. You don’t need to use much of the crayon as a little goes a long way! I trimmed the white cardstock to 11.5×11.5and mounted on a patterned paper (it was an old one I had been hoarding!! I added just a small dot of the colour through the stencil on to my background and then blended in the same way. I knew it would bleed a little and I wanted the softer circle.
I then flicked some of the paint on to the background.
I mounted my photos on some Crate Paper patterned papers and raised on foam pads. I stuck it a an angle slightly overlapping the painted section and tucked a ticket and tab stick just under the photo. I then added a phrase tag and again, tucked it slightly under the photo. I embellished with the watercolour stickers, a butterfly from my stash and some gems. I then flicked a small amount of the paint from the paintbrush over the tag.
I hope I have inspired you to grab those Art Crayons or Gelatos and give it a go 🙂
