I can’t quite believe how quickly this year is passing us by. I’ve already had a fantastic holiday which I’m enjoying scrapping at the moment so I’m sure you’ll see some of those in upcoming posts so I shouldn’t complain too much.
This photo is from our trip last September when we went to Lithuania on a city break. The weather was very cold but we managed some beautiful sunny days which made for great views and lovely photos.
In the original layout from the October GoGo Getaway class Kirei used paint to create a rainbow background and then added coordinating embellishments on top of the same colour background. I cheated in a way but wanted to show that if paint wasn’t your thing then you could replicate it with certain patterned papers.
I used 2 different papers from the Shimelle’s Glitter Girl collection ‘Keeping Your Cool’ and ‘Seek Rainbows’. I used the B side of the ‘Keeping Your Cool’ paper with the beautiful yellow/green/blue ombre style pattern as my background piece. Then I fussy cut out all the coordinating coloured pieces from the ‘Seek Rainbows’ paper to layer on top. I did also add a couple of extra pieces from the sticker book and some enamel dots.
We would love to see your take on this technique, so share your layouts with us on Facebook and Instagram.
