Cross Stitch Blooms

Happy Sunday! Hope you are all keeping warm in this current cold snap!

I am here today to share a LO I created which was inspired by Lorraine’s Cross Stitch Class which was taught at GoGo Getaway in October.

I had hoarded the cross stitch flowers paper from Paige Evans’ Take Me Away collection (yes, I have hoarded it for that long!!) I decided to cross stitch all the flowers and a few of the leaves to use as my background. It was a labour of love, but so worth it in the end!

Once all the stitching was done I layered my photo on some more patterned paper from various Pink Paislee collections and added foam pads. I added some washi tape strips to the background and stuck my photo so they were just showing at the bottom. I tucked a tag and a ticket from ephemera packs, again from Pink Paislee collections.

To finish off I added a heart charm and made a bow with some embroidery floss, some enamel shapes, chipboard pieces and ink splatters.  I didn’t want to embellish too heavily and take the focus away from the cross stitching

I love how the stitching gives the page some texture and depth.  Hope this has inspired you to have a go at cross stitching on a layout.

See you next month!
