Hello, Jo here with another dose of scrapbooking inspiration. This month I’ve tried a technique taught by Flora last November at the GoGo Getaway in Haydock, watercoloured and fussy cut shapes. Here’s Flora’s layout…
I chose a black and white paper with flowers already printed on it (Dear Lizzy ‘Lovely Day – Color me Pretty’ paper) and coloured the flowers in with my paints. I’d planned on a watercoloured look, but my paints dried chalky looking rather than watercoloured. Oh well, looks like I need to make another purchase!
Once the flowers and leaves were dry, I fussy cut them out with scissors and decided to position them down one side of the page (after much pushing around and faffing). The background paper is from the new Maggie Holmes collection ‘Flourish’. I raised some flowers on foam pads and glued others flat for a nice dimensional effect. I chose a fun snapchat photo for my page which went perfectly with the flowers.
I added a gold glitter title and a couple of moths from the Maggie Holmes ‘Flourish’ collection around the page, picking up the inspiration from the ladybird on the snapchat filter. The flair is from the new Crate Paper travel collection ‘Here & There’, the flag stickers are from the Maggie Holmes sticker book and the puffy camera is by Freckled Fawn.
It’s fun to get the paints out and have a play!
