Happy New Year GoGo’s
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and good start to 2018 – I am sending everyone good vibes for the new year!
2017 for me was quite a year and in a way I was ready to draw a line under it and move on into 2018. I decided what I needed was to be away and get some sun on my weary bones! (a bit dramatic i know!) So I booked a trip to Mexico which was fab. I stayed in a really lovely resort and was blown away with how beautiful the beach was and I went for a run every morning with the sun rising beside me. I got to sleep a lot and recharge, eat lots of lovely food and Santa even visited us on the beach by flying in on his helicopter on Christmas day 🙂
Even though I was somewhere hot I still wanted my layout to have a Christmas feel so I used the ‘December Days’ paper and embellishment collection by Pink Fresh Studios and the my inspiration came from Esther’s class that she taught back in October of using die-cuts and water colour paints.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the letters and then painted them with some shimmer water colour paints. I stitched the die-cuts by hand using some variegated crochet thread.
I splattered some white paint to continue a Christmas theme and layered up my photo and used a frame.
Then the fun bit – I went to town with the puffy stickers, enamel dots and stickers to decorate my layout! I hope you like it – a bit of a twist on a seasonal theme.
