Let’s dance!

Good morning!

Madie here to share my blog post for November – this is my take on Kirie’s class Rainbow Brights that she taught in October.

I’ve had this idea running around in my head for ages, to try and make a background that wasn’t patterned paper.  I have an absolute ton of chipboard letters and shapes that I really should purge but find it really difficult to let go of my stash!

So I thought why not use them for a background?  I laid a whole bunch of them out on some sturdy white card stock and then I covered them all in gesso and then stuck them down with wet glue.

I then created the rainbow with some water colour paints and some shimmer paints.  Once dried I add mist splatters and then started to embellish with lots of stickers to add texture.

This layout came together quite quickly and was a ton of fun to make and really relaxing!

The photo is of my favorite DJ called Todd Terry I have been a fan of his since the late 1980’s he is well known for his house and dance music which I love with a passion.  I still love to go out clubbing and dance its a big part of my life still and I thought this would be a good way to document this!  I have been lucky enough to see him play three times this year and he is still as brilliant as he was back then!  This photo was taken at the end of his set recently at the Ministry of Sound.

I hope you like the layout and have a go at using that stash!

So wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and I will see you again in the new year.

Lots of love
