Let’s shake a Pineapple!

Hi Go-go fans!

Madie here to share my post this month. I recently went to Bali for a holiday and have a ton of pictures to scrapbook so don’t be surprised if that’s all you will see from me for a while. It was a lovely and beautiful country and would love to go back there for another holiday.

My inspiration for this layout comes from a concept used on a recent Dayaway Event By Niki and Kirei in Hertfordshire.  Sewing around a large shape infilling with papers.

I found this fun pineapple cut file in the Silhouette design store. Once I had cut out the shape I outlined the edge of the pineapple using water colour paint and then stitched around the shape using embroidery thread.

To fill the shape I used lots of ephrema from Amy Tangerine and Hip Kit club, flat back gems, wooden shapes and stick on pearls and gems. I also stuck some of the embellishments down so that when the layout is picked up it doesn’t all fall to the bottom of the shape. So in essence is a big shaker element! I the splattered some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine mists to break up the white space and adhered the photo and some embellishments to finish off I backed it onto two different pieces of patterned paper card stock , one from Hip Kit Club ans one from Maggie Holmes Carousel collection.

I’m really enjoyed making this layout and it makes me smile and cheers me up as the nights are drawing in and it’s getting cooler, I can think about those warm summer days that I had in Bali!

Until next month. Thanks for stopping by and reading my post.
