Bold Sewing Outline…

Hello…. How are you all? Its Lisa here with my post this month… Are you managing any time to scrap? With the quick change in weather and the dark nights upon us I find it a great opportunity or should I say excuse to get cosy in my pjs with a cuppa, paper and scissors grabbing time to scrap and it cheers me up too.

This time on the blog I have created a page using a concept used on a recent Dayaway Event By Niki and Kirei in Hertfordshire.  Sewing around a large shape infilling with papers… another opportunity to have some “fussy cutting” which I really enjoy.

As you will see in the close up above I have managed to place sequins in the spaces too. In keeping with the colour theme I placed the same colour as not wanting them to deflect away from all the shapes placed within.

The Layout is from Joseph’s Graduation in July. Deciding to use the letter “J” as the main feature on the page. Once Cut from the white cardstock I placed the card which I had trimmed slightly onto the Jade/Teal background card. I completed the stitching by hand for both the teal letter and the red border. Filling the “J” with my fussy cut shapes took some time to juggle and get a “best fit”. Once happy with their placement I secured the, with foam pads and then added the sequins.

I then built up my photo area which is to the right of the letter with Emphemera and Acetate. The papers are from Bella Blvd “Tiny Tots” were just perfect and although quite old in my stash the colour range I don’t think looks dated.

Its a fun page to capture the Graduation… another little milestone for my little man…

I hope you like? and look forward to seeing you soon,

Hugs
