Distressing Die Cuts

Hi Lovelies,

Sarah here again, this month I am using a technique which was taught at a recent GoGoDayaway event.

The idea is to use a die cut as a stencil.  I chose a sketchy star cut file to use with the wonderful Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks! My favourite medium at the moment!

I placed the stars randomly on my cardstock and using a blending tool and three different colours, inked the stars and the background to leave and outline around the die cuts, I then flicked the page with water and a paint brush to activate the oxides.

I love the effect it made of the white stars surrounded by colour!

Whilst waiting for the background to dry I layered my photo on patterned papers from Cocoa Vanilla So Rad and Crate Paper Cool Kid and added foam pads.

Once the background was dry I added my photo centrally on the page and stuck two strips of papers from the same ranges as above at an angle under the photo. I added some Embellishments from both collections and a few sequins for added bling!Sarah Packer GoGo Getaway Crate Paper Cocoa Vanilla Oxide Ink Tim Holtz.jpg

Hope this has inspired you to give it ago! You don’t have to use Oxide inks, you could use paint, watercolour pencils or ordinary ink pads!

Don’t forget to share your creations over on the GoGo Getaway facebook page!

Happy Scrapping,

SignatureSarah
