Getting Creative with Medium

Hi all, I hope you are having a good September and have been busy making memories for up coming scrapbooking pages.  This month I have revisited a technique from the Ipswich Colourful Cuts and Magic Mediums, that took place in July.  Lisa taught a class where the focus was to use mediums to create a large title for the page.  I was lucky to take part in the class on the so it was fun to revisit the technique.

I used a mixture of stencils and and roller stamps to build up a textured on top of a piece of Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock.  Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut a large title to use as a stencil to cut out my textured title, ready to add to my layout.

For my pages I decided to use a pattern paper background from the Shimelle Little by Little collection, it was a bit to bright, so I toned it down using some gesso, which helped to make my title pop.

I decided to use photos from the Colourful Cuts and Magic Mediums day on this page, and used a off cut of the texture piece to ground these.  I kept my embellishments simple as the title took up so much space on the page.

I added to my title by fussy cutting a word from one of the Shimelle Papers, and called the layout done.

I really enjoyed revisiting this technique and you could use this in a smaller element on the page, if this is a bit too busy for you.

I hope you have a good scrapping month and I will see you next month.
