Playing with Stencils

Hi all this month I am here to show a layout that I have created using a class that Esther taught, at the Colourful Cuts and Magic Mediums weekend in July, for inspiration.

Esther used a stencil on one of her pages that she had created using the Silhouette Cameo, everyone who attended got one in their box of goodies.  I have used this stencil as well as a couple that I have made using my Silhouette Cameo.  Silhouette do sell Stencil material, but you can buy Mylar from many places and use it to cut your own.  It comes in many thicknesses and I do recommend that you use some washi tape to stick the material securely to your mat.

I have used these 3 stencils, with a range of mediums to create some texture to the backgrounds, before creating a layer on top.

I used 2 different cut file available in the Silhouette Design Store, and cut these from white textured cardstock.

I used a variety of papers from 6×6 paper pads to back my flower die cuts and photos.  I then took some of the bunny images from Shimelle’s Little by Little collection.

I am really happy how this page has come out and the texture on the background makes the whole thing pop.  I would say make sure you clean your stencils after use, unlike me, as dried on mediums can ruin designs.

Please remember if you do not have a Silhouette Cameo their are many different stencils available from assorted brands which you can use the same way.

Their will be a video up to accompany this layout on my YouTube channel later this week, I currently have no voice due to a cold so can not narrate.

I look forward to coming back next month and sharing some more projects with you.

Keep Crafting
