Ombre Texture Paste

Hey there, Niki here with you today with another look at Terri’s Ombre Texture Paste technique that she taught at GoGo Getaway in March.

Terri used white texture paste and added a small spritz of mist. She mixed the paste and the mist together and then applied it to the top one inch of a stencil that she had on the background of her layout. She added another couple of spritzes to the texture paste to make it a shade darker, then applied this to the next inch. She continued doing this until the whole stencil had been covered, gradually going from light at the top to dark at the bottom.

For my take on this technique, I opted to pick three different mists that complimented the papers I was using (Wild at Heart by Cocoa Vanilla Studio). I mixed these with white texture paste and then applied through a stencil on three different areas of my layout. Once dry, I used a tiny amount of the same mists mixed with water and washed over the textured areas to give them a colour wash.

Give the technique a try, it’s super easy and is a great alternative use for those mists that we all have and only use to make flicks lol

Happy scrapping xx
