Inked Class Revisited

Hi all I hope you are all having a creative month, I have really enjoyed all the challenged around for national scrapbooking day and playing with all my stash.

This month I am revisiting a technique from the March 2017 GoGo Getaway and putting my spin on it.  The class I will be revisiting it is Lorraine’s Inked in Love class.  I took this class with Lorraine at the event and really enjoyed how relaxing it was and was a perfect layout to break me in to the weekend.

I really liked how the Silhouette Cameo sketch pens were used to create the outline of the title which was filled with the ink.  I have had sketch pens in my stash since I got my Cameo and they had hardly been used, so I decided to crack them out.

gogo be who

I had downloaded the title design from the store a while back and thought this would be perfect for the main design.  I used the pink sketch pen to draw out my design on the center of my background paper.  I am not a massive fan of plain cardstock so I used a subtle pattern paper for my background, this effected the vibrancy of the paint colours, but I was fine with this.

I used my Kurtake watercolour and took my time to infill the title design, I chose an ombre of colours which match the paper collection that I wanted to use.

As my design was so large, it meant that the photos had to be small to accommodate it.  I use 3 2×2 photos and created small micro clusters around this and cut out some elements of the title to overlap the photos.  I have made a process of this layout and you can find the video here.

I finished by mounting my layout on a coordinating piece of cardstock.  I really love how bold the title is on this page and that is defiantly a technique which I want to revisit.

I hope you are inspired by my take on Lorraine’s page, and that you can make a page too.  Even if you don’t have a Silhouette Cameo, there are lots of paper designs from collections which have elements you paint on, so take some time to relax and do some painting.

I will see you all again next month, happy crafting.
