Colour, Colour…

Hi everyone, it’s Kirei here with my take on Giselle’s fab class from the March GoGo Getaway which featured colouring in to create your own patterned papers. We doodled shapes onto plain white card and then used various mediums (metallic pencils, Gelatos and mica pens) to colour them in. I don’t know about you but I find colouring in very relaxing, I have one of those lovely adult style colouring in books that I have in the lounge so that I can do some whenever I fancy!2 Giselle Colouring in

I pulled out the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams ‘Portrait’ paper as I was inspired by a previous layout I had made with a similar paper.

So went ahead and coloured in all of the frames with the pretty Starlights Metallic Paints by Imagination Crafts. You can see how lovely and shimmery they are in the close up pics below. I then cut out the centres of all of the frames and using foam pads I backed them with other patterned papers from the ‘Chasing Dreams’ range.

I then layered up the photo with some of the patterned papers, chipboard shapes, embellishments and added a title (these were from the ‘Chasing Dreams’ range and some previous Maggie Holmes ranges).

Though I have to confess I went on and finished the layout and then decided that the patterned papers were too busy so decided to add a layer of vellum in front of them to tone down the patterns. That was challenging….thank goodness for a spatula to lift up all the sticky foam pads! In the end I was really pleased with how it worked out….

Love Together May 2017Thanks for looking and I will catch you next month with my take on Nancy’s Micro Clusters technique. Happy scrapping!signaturekirei
