Hi everyone, Kirei here again with my take on Niki’s string art layout class from the last GoGo Getaway.
I decided to take a die-cut open title and fill in the centre of each letters with string art which is a slightly different take on Lisa’s string art title here. The ‘Love’ die-cut I used was from The Cut Shoppe and is one of a selection of die-cuts called Oodles of Doodles.
For the string art title I punched the holes using a template and then once I had finished the stitching I used some of the matching coloured paper from the One Canoe Two ‘Hazelwood’ collection to back each letter on sticky foam pads to add dimension. You can see a close up of the string art in the pics here….
I then had the layout sat on my table for a week as I pushed the ‘Love’ title, photo and embellishments around the paper…. just couldn’t quite decide what to add to it! So I finally decided that I wanted the title to be the hero and kept the entire layout simple. I smooshed some spray mists behind each letter and just added some fussy cut butterflies and enamel dots.
Hopefully you will decide to give this string art technique a try, so if you do please share your layouts over on the GoGo Getaway Facebook page.
Thanks for looking, and see those of you attending the next GoGo Getaway in just a few weeks!
