Stringing You Along

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all having a great time visiting the blog and seeing all the amazing inspiration.

This month I am taking inspiration from Niki’s string art class at the October retreat.  I really have loved the other pages shared by Lorraine and Lisa on the blog too.

I always like to frame my pages, either with a plain card stock, or a patterned paper, so when I was thinking about how I was going to use the theme of string art, I was keen to make sure my layout was frames.

I used my silhouette cameo to punch the holes on to my silver card stock.  I made two squares, and placed one of these behind where  knew I would be placing my photo.  This gave the string art a sunburst effect from behind the photo.  I then stitched a whole frame around the whole layout, this contained the string art, and was similar to how I would use layers of patterned paper.

I took the inspiration for the colours of my embroidery floss from the Simple Stories collection that I decided to use.  I also added in some gold sewing thread to add another texture.

I then created a simple layer, using one of the banners on the cut-a-part sheets, and finished it off with a sprinkling of gold mist.

I hope I may have prompted you to try some string art on your pages, however large or small, we would love to see it over on the Facebook page.

See you next month.
