Fringe benefit revisited

I loved this class that Lorraine created for us, I knew exactly what I wanted to do to recreate the layout in a different  way. One of the many Christmas work events I had to go to  was going to be at a Mexican restaurant in London (it’s a hard life 😉 ! ) It was my Head Office party and one I was looking forward to as I would be with my work buddies.

I knew I wanted to do a layout with a piñata theme viola  – here is my layout ‘Merry piñata’ this was a fun way to add the fringing technique with a Christmas twist. I had a lot of fun making this and have been going around saying ‘Merry piñata’ after a few drinks….

I cut out a Christmas tree shape out of some chipboard and painted it white. Using my trusty fringing scissors I cut lots of strips of white tissue paper and layered on the tree, I used wet glue to stick the strips down as it made it easier to manipulate before the glue dried.  I cut the Christmas decorations from some strip dies I have I think they x cut dies.

I purposely kept the embellishments to a minimum as the 12 x 12 paper is busy. The star I punched out and used Wow tinsel glitter to adhere to the star.  I made inch sized squares of the photos I took and printed them in a strip format using my Cannon Selphy printer.  The journaling i typed out then cut into strips and adhered to the layout.
