What isn’t to love about a sketch! They are such a fabulous way to enjoy creating a layout without the planning, which is perfect for this busy time of the year. My Hey Jack layout was created using a direct lift of Rebekah’s Be Inspired sketch from October 2016 GoGo Getaway.
Replacing the floral and heart elements with Christmas themed ephemera by Hip Kit Club really helped bring the layout to life. The
black splatter was created using black Indian Ink, an item I wouldn’t be without!
I kept to a simple colour palette of grey, white and mint with just a touch of red in the embellishments to help the photo to ‘pop’.
I love to add some quirkiness to my layouts. You know, those little touches that make them your own and bring something unique to the design. Well for this fun photo of my son with Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas it simply had to be hand stitched ‘stitches’ like he has for his smile!
I used the stitched lines to write some hand journaling in between, building the lines to also represent a Christmas tree shape. The tiny green square underneath and title with a star of top reinforced the Christmas tree shape and theme of the layout.
I would love to see your creations using this Be Inspired sketch so please do share with us what you make.
